Partnering with our community
Derby Chamber of Commerce is committed to partnering with local organisations and community groups to create opportunities and support growth. By working together, we can grow stronger businesses and a stronger community.
Lighting up Derby
The Derby Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley and Vision Power, is proud to have delivered the beautiful new lighting on the iconic Boab trees along Loch Street.
These lights don’t just brighten the town centre at night — they create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that brings our community together and highlights the heart of Derby. This project reflects what can be achieved when local organisations work hand in hand to make our town an even better place to live, work and visit.
Working with the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley
To create real progress collaboration is essential and that’s exactly what the Derby Chamber of Commerce and the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley have committed to. Together, they are leading joint initiatives that support local business, enhance infrastructure and attract investment, from town beautification projects to economic development strategies and major infrastructure support. These efforts not only strengthen the local economy but also ensure that projects are aligned with community needs and delivered with shared goals in mind.
A key strength of this partnership is advocacy. By presenting a united voice, the Chamber and the Shire amplify Derby and the West Kimberley’s priorities at state and federal levels, resulting in important wins in areas such as transport, housing, workforce development and telecommunications. At the same time, the Chamber provides vital insights from the business community while the Shire contributes local government strategy and networks, ensuring policies and projects are both practical and effective. As the region continues to navigate economic challenges, this partnership stands as a model for how local organisations can achieve more by working together.
